About the SME AI Impact Awards
IMDA, the Singapore government’s digital development agency, and SBF launched the SME AI Impact Awards in 2026. The awards are part of the National AI Impact Programme, in support of Singapore’s National AI Strategy, and recognize up to 30 SMEs that have used AI to achieve real, measurable business outcomes.
There are two categories. The SME Innovation Excellence Award is for SMEs that have developed their own proprietary AI solutions. This first edition drew 290 nominations from 21 sectors, ranging from retail to healthcare and professional services. Winners receive the SME AI Impact Awards Trustmark, a verified mark of excellence from IMDA.

Why this award matters
AI adoption among SMEs is rising quickly. The harder question is whether that AI makes a real difference to the business and its customers.
The SME AI Impact Awards set a clear bar. They don’t ask whether a company uses AI, but whether AI delivers real, measurable results for the business and its customers.
That is the standard Atlas was built to meet. It is not a pilot or an experiment. It is part of how our sales team handles RFQs every day.
The problem Atlas was built to solve
SCI supplies active, passive and electromechanical components to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and electronic manufacturing services (EMS) companies across tech sectors. Every day, buyers send us RFQs, and every RFQ is a buyer waiting for an answer.
Before Atlas, three problems slowed that answer down:
- RFQs arrived in every format. Emails, PDFs and spreadsheets came in at growing volumes, which made them hard to process, track and manage.
- Matching was manual. Matching requested products and brands by hand increased the risk of quoting errors and unnecessary follow-ups.
- Supplier information was scattered. Pricing and lead-time details sat across emails and separate records, so pulling a quote together took time.
How Atlas works
Atlas uses AI to turn RFQ and supplier data into structured, searchable information. It works in four parts:
- AI-enabled RFQ processing. Atlas reads customer and product requirements from emails, PDFs, spreadsheets and other formats, and turns them into structured data our team can work with straight away.
- Intelligent product matching. It matches requested products and brands against supplier information, so sourcing and quoting are faster and more consistent.
- Supplier intelligence and sourcing. It pulls supplier prices, inventory and lead times from emails, and identifies stock availability, supplier options and product alternatives.
- Automated RFQ workflow. It brings RFQ and supplier information into one place and automates supplier outreach, so information is easier to search, track and reuse.
Our sales team stays in control of every quote. Atlas takes on the manual work, so they can spend their time on the customer.
The results
Atlas delivers two key results:
- Up to 90% faster sourcing and quote preparation
- 96% reduction in bill of materials (BOM) preparation time

What this means for our customers
For buyers, faster quote preparation means less time waiting and a quicker path from RFQ to purchase order. Better matching means more accurate quotes and fewer back-and-forth follow-ups. And because Atlas surfaces stock, lead times and alternatives early, our team can flag options sooner when a part is hard to find.
The team behind Atlas
Atlas was built in-house by a team led by Piyush Aggarwala, and shaped by feedback from our sales team, who use it every day.
“We didn’t build Atlas to follow a trend. We built it so customers get accurate quotes sooner. This award shows that practical AI, applied to everyday work like quoting, can help an SME compete with much larger players.” Piyush Aggarwala, VP of Sales and Digital Innovation, Supreme Components International
We thank IMDA and SBF for recognizing what Singapore’s SMEs are achieving with AI, and congratulate our fellow winners and nominees.
